Meet the Dream Team

Dr. Dana Wright

Dr. Dana Wright graduated from Indiana School of Dentistry in 2001 where she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society. She opened her practice later that year in her hometown community of Madison County. She is a member of both the American Dental Association and the Indiana Dental Association. She practices family dentistry with interests relating to pediatric, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. Dr. Wright is thankful for longstanding relationships with her staff which has created an inviting and comfortable atmosphere for patients. In 2010, 2017, 2019, and 2020 her office was voted Best Dental Practice in Madison County by readers of the local newspaper.

Dr. Wright has been married to her husband, Gary, since 1997. Both she and her husband are natives of the Anderson area and graduates of Highland High School. Gary is a family physician practicing in Pendleton since 2003. They enjoy raising their three children Lucas, Gavin, & Kate. Faith is central to their family life and they attend Northview Church. As a family, they enjoy outdoor activities and sporting events.

Erin Barnett

Erin Barnett is a licensed dental hygienist and earned her degree at Ivy Tech Community College in 2011. Erin previously worked with Dr. Wright as an expanded duties dental assistant before going to hygiene school. Her experience in both areas provides an extensive knowledge base in the overall care of her patients. She is passionate about educating her patients to the highest level of dental health, works diligently in her pursuit of continuing education, and provides gentle care to her patients. Erin married her husband, Dustin, in 2001 and they have three children, Myranda, Zoey, and Carter. She enjoys watching her children participate in basketball and softball.

Amy Shelton

Amy Shelton is a licensed dental hygienist earning her degree from the University of Southern Indiana in 1995. She previously attended IU School of Dentistry earning a degree in expanded duties dental assisting in 1991. Amy married her husband Mike in 1994 and they have two children, Devon and Dailynn. Amy and her husband enjoy spending time with family and friends. Amy’s generous spirit flows into her work as a dental hygienist and she enjoys educating her patients on their oral health and overall wellness. She truly loves her profession and building relationships with her patients and their families. Amy’s positive energy is contagious in the office and everyone is grateful she joined our dental team.

Andrea Karel

Andrea Karel joined Dr. Wright’s team as office manager in 2003 with fifteen years of administrative experience in medical offices. She coordinates patient treatment and has developed close relationships with our patients throughout the years, going above and beyond to make sure they have the best experience possible at our office. Andrea married her husband, Jon, in 1985 and they have two grown children, Kadi and Alex. Kadi works in Fishers and Alex and his wife Alexis live in Indianapolis. Dr. Alex Karel is currently finishing his neurology residency and his wife Alexis is a student at IU School of Medicine.

Kelly Whybrew

Kelly Whybrew is a 1994 graduate of Professional Careers Institute. She completed a continuing education course at IUPUI in December of 1995 to become and expanded functions dental assistant. She worked in the dental field for more than five years before staying home to raise her daughters. She came to Dr. Wright’s office in 2008 to work as an expanded duties dental assistant. Kelly consistently provides compassionate, exceptional, gentle care and enjoys the relationships she develops with her patients.
Kelly married her husband, Mark, in 1996. They enjoy lake life and raising their daughters Madison & Lizzy.

Lea Warrum

Lea Warrum is a native of Pendleton, IN graduating from high school in 2014. She interned during the summer of 2017 for Dr. Wright’s office during her education in dental assisting. The staff and patients fell in love with her and decided she needed to join the practice permanently. Lea’s role is versatile, and she is involved in direct patient care procedures, while you may also find her beautiful smile greeting and assisting patients in the front office. In her spare time, Lea enjoys spoiling her handsome nephew, hanging out with her family and friends, and spending time outdoors. Our growing practice could not survive without Lea and we are extremely blessed that she has joined our work family.

Karen Richardson

Karen Richardson retired from GM in 2003 and then shortly after, began working in medical offices to assist in coordinating patient care. She joined Dr. Wright’s office in 2010 as a front office assistant. Not only does she care for our patients, but her generous spirit leads her to fulfill any and every need for the staff as well. She married her husband, Butch, in 1973 and they have two married daughters Layne and Paige. Karen’s greatest joy is being Mimi to her two grandchildren Reid and Reagan.
